A little more about me.

You don’t have to understand life, you must LIVE it.

I signed up to be a flight attendant in 1988 until a hiring freeze directed me into the banking industry. Starting as a teller at an Asheville bank, I steadily maneuvered within the company, eventually becoming the Closing Coordinator for all mortgages before moving on to a larger bank and financial service firm in North Carolina.

I worked tirelessly to become my new bank’s Regional Mortgage Manager AVP. I oversaw processing centers for both of the Carolinas until eventually becoming a Loan Originator. I've held on to this rewarding role since 2006.

I joined Atlantic Bay in 2014, driven by the desire to bring more dignity to the home loan process for both agents and borrowers. Working for a company that puts people first while staying nimble enough to navigate change efficiently resonates with me. Now, after four decades of experience in the finance industry and 2,000+ families served, I can honestly say that I've found my home – now let me help you finance yours! Today, I serve all homebuyers throughout "The Mountains & Beyond": North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida.

I do what I do because I love making people feel like they're the most important person in the world. That means endless encouragement, proposing solutions, and adding value to the homebuying process. I believe my job is something other than transactional; it's an experience of serving my clients who are making important life decisions. Being a Mortgage Banker is a noble calling, and we should always handle the role with care. I ask myself every day, "What can I do for my client." It's about creating homeowners. Nothing builds pride and self-esteem quite like being a homeowner.

When you choose my team, you can expect professionalism, kindness, and precision. Every client is treated with dignity. Producing and closing a mortgage is highly detailed, clinical, and sometimes complicated. Compassion can go missing, and I take pride in bringing a softer side to the business. My team recognizes buying a home can be a highly emotional event. We, as mortgage professionals, must show we care, so we strive to soothe nerves and inject confidence whenever necessary.

In my free time, I like to stay involved in my community. I'm a proud supporter of the following organizations: Black Mountain Children's Home, Asheville Humane Society, WNC Rescue Ministry, Hope Effect, Tunnels 2 Towers, Owen high school PTO, Academy for the Arts Asheville NC, Young Life Asheville, Odd Fellows Scholarship, Leukemia Society, and Madison County Schools. Our family was awarded the highest volunteer award in the state of NC in 2008 – the medallion award for our volunteer dedication to the Black Mountain Neurological Center.

When I'm not helping you finance your family's forever home, you can find me reading, cooking, walking in nature, visiting the Parkway, fishing, practicing archery, singing with the family band, or winding down after a long day with teatime. Of course, the most extraordinary moments come when I'm with my family. I love journeying to our beach house, "Ava Moon," with my husband Jeff, and our children, "Big" Wil and Lilly. Nothing makes me happier than attending a concert with Lilly or going to food crawls with Wil.
