After leaving college in 1989, I spent the next several years in different real estate and mortgage related fields, including property management, business ownership, and working as a Loan Officer Assistant. But in 2004, I officially received my license to become a full-time Mortgage Banker in North and South Carolina. I specialize in assisting first-time borrowers, especially with purchasing, refinancing, and, when applicable, applying for a VA loan.
Of all the aspects of lending, the lifelong relationships I have with my clients mean the most. To me, this business isn’t about the numbers. It’s about helping and serving our communities, something of which I love to do every day. From first-time buyers to those looking to downsize and retire, it’s always so gratifying to walk families through the lending process so they can finally call themselves homeowners for the first, or last, time . There’s a special place in my heart for any borrower that’s starting over, a single parent, or thought they’d never have the chance to own a home. I had to “start over” as a single parent after the death of my spouse, credit failure, and foreclosure, so I find joy in helping others make their way through similar obstacles to the ones I faced. I know it’s hard, but they can be overcome.
I love to volunteer and serve. In the past, I’ve participated in our local PTA, Optimist, church youth outreach program, The Salvation Army Center of Hope in Charlotte, and Angel Tree projects. I’m currently looking to join Atlantic Bay’s mission of helping the Roc Solid Foundation and any other opportunities to give back.
I have three daughters, one son through marriage, and two wonderful grandsons. Maranda Connor is the first-born, and married to my son-in-law, Mike Connor. He’s a lovely man from England, and together, they have a sweet new baby named Mason Ryan. Rebecca Davis is the middle-child who lives nearby and has my first grandson, Hendix James. Kaylee Davis is the baby. She currently lives in New York City and works her dream job in fashion. No grandchildren yet, just a spoiled fat cat named Macie.
My free time these days are focused on spending time with family and grandchildren, but when I can, I love to take long weekends away exploring the Carolinas, experiencing live music at outdoor festivals, and traveling.
