Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group’s® philanthropy program, AB Cares, hosted their second annual Find Your Cause Volunteer Fair on September 12. A total of 68 non-profits gathered with the mission to help local community members find volunteer opportunities. Over 150 people perused various non-profit booths to find a cause that spoke to them. Some of the non-profits in attendance included The MS Society, Virginia Beach SPCA, The Roc Solid Foundation, Volunteer Hampton Roads and many more.

Sharron Green and her family recently moved to the Hampton Roads area and came to the fair to find a way to get involved locally. “We all should give back somehow, some way to our community. Whether it’s a donation, giving your time, or passing out information on a worthy cause – it all helps,” she said. “There are always new causes, there are always new ways to serve your community and there’s always someone who needs a helping hand.”

According to a recent article in Alt-Daily</>, there are more than 2,000 non-profits in Hampton Roads. The Find Your Cause fair gives non-profits an opportunity to reach the community to help spread awareness of their organization’s mission while providing ways for families and individuals to volunteer.

“We are very thankful for this event,” said Kelly Capps-Durick from the Roc Solid Foundation. “It’s another way for the community to get involved with us and give more information about how to help kids living with cancer.”

Atlantic Bay employees also attended the event to continue to grow their community involvement and find organizations that align with their personal passions. “Community outreach is really one of our core principles in the company,” said President of Strategic Growth Justin Caplan. “We come together as a team by really speaking to the people that we work with and we are empowering employees to tell us how they would like to make a difference in our community.”

Atlantic Bay believes in doing good and giving back to the community and throughout their 20 years in business, has donated more than $2 million to charities and continues to participate in various volunteer events.
