VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group®, a national mortgage company headquartered in Virginia Beach, has launched a corporate partnership with the Roc Solid Foundation, a Hampton Roads-based non-profit focused on bringing hope to children and families affected by pediatric cancer through the power of play.
“Families have always been at the core of what we do. This year, we’re taking our commitment to families further by launching our corporate partnership with the Roc Solid Foundation,” said Atlantic Bay CEO Brian Holland.
“We’re honored to work in tandem with Roc Solid to help their mission of building hope for children and families battling pediatric cancer by giving kids a way to do what they do best – play.”
Last year, Roc Solid helped nearly 90 families through the Play It Forward initiative, where volunteers build surprise playsets for children battling cancer. A backyard playset provides children battling cancer an escape from reality and lets them, even for a moment, forget about the hospitals, the needles, the appointments and just be a kid.
One of Atlantic Bay’s long-term goals is to help Roc Solid reach at least 16,000 families in their moment of need with a Ready Bag. These bags provide families with the necessities for a hospital stay, so no one has to go home to pack a bag, and allows the family unit to stay together after receiving heart-wrenching news. Each bag comes equipped with many items including toiletries, coffee, a tablet for the child to play with, a journal and so much more.
“We are thrilled to partner with Atlantic Bay, and we aim to expand our programs to help families and children in the markets Atlantic Bay currently serves. Together, we’re looking forward to building hope for more kids fighting pediatric cancer.”
