After a 10-year career in accounting, Joe Kersey entered the mortgage industry in 2002 when he joined Atlantic Bay. Applying his accounting background to identify the best loan program, he can often save his clients thousands of dollars over the loan's term.
With his financial background, ability to analyze, and natural flair for interacting with people, Joe provides clients structure and support throughout the mortgage loan process. His team consists of a licensed production partner, a back-office loan processor, an underwriter, and a closer.
In over 20 years with Atlantic Bay, he has closed more than $500 million in loan volume and 2,000 loans. Joe says, "I've had the pleasure of working with first-time home buyers, veterans, self-employed investors, and those buying their second homes."
Joe lives in Chesapeake with his wife, Kristin, and they have two grown children. He is the Treasurer for a local non-profit organization, the Abba List, and volunteers with the Chesapeake Area Shelter Team (CAST). He enjoys spending time boating in Virginia and North Carolina.
