Senior Mortgage Banker Jim Bucher joined Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group® in 2011 with a background rich in finance and mortgages. He has helped more than 5,000 families achieve their homeownership dreams during his 30 years in the industry. Jim presents up-to-date and accurate information to his clients, and he confirms each day’s figures and rates based on his clients’ credit scores, loan-to-value (LTV), and other factors.

Jim says, “I tell my clients that we must constantly communicate – one example is that we must keep up with the market because today’s rates can change so quickly. I make sure they understand their options, talk through various loan programs, and help them choose the best solution to suit their needs. There are many variables to consider when purchasing a home, including how long a homebuyer plans to live in the home, unique financial circumstances, and other costs. I’m a resource every step of the way, and we utilize the rapid rescore program to increase the credit score before closing and obtain a better deal!”

Licensed in Virginia and North Carolina, Jim has the skills to guide any homebuyer through the mortgage process. He is involved in several community organizations. He volunteers for Roc Solid Foundation to help build hope for kids fighting cancer, the Knights of Columbus, which sponsors the Special Olympics annually, and the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (JCOC). Jim also dedicates time to the food pantry at St. Gregory Church in Virginia Beach, gathering, preparing, and serving food to those in need. In addition, he is a member of the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association. When he’s not working hard for his clients, he enjoys kayaking, target shooting, riding ATVs, hanging out at his Cabin at Leesville Lake, and spending time with his sons, Landon and Chase.
