Hugh Covington has a natural gift for establishing lasting relationships with his clients. He honestly listens to folks, figures out what their goals are and then builds a plan to make it happen for them.
When a man tells you he is from Mount Airy, North Carolina, a certain image comes to mind, one of a person who is warm-hearted, easy-going, and honest to a fault. Hugh Covington is such a person. Hugh recently joined Atlantic Bay, bringing over 28 years of mortgage experience to home buyers in the Greensboro area and southern Virginia. Hugh says, “I love helping people because it certainly gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you help someone achieve the goal of home ownership. It’s something they’re only going to do once or twice in their lifetime so it is an extremely important process. The greatest thing about it is the satisfaction of helping other people with such a major decision in their lives.”
He says, “You have to be completely honest and straightforward in communicating with clients, while at the same time, building trust. I do that by listening and gathering facts and figuring out what their goals are. From that point on, I communicate throughout the process. I always tell them, ‘When you leave here you’re going to have questions. Please feel free to call me anytime.’ Once they call me and realize that I’m sincere, it really puts them at ease. When you’ve gained their trust, they see that you really want to help them move forward with the process.”
While Hugh helps clients from all walks of life, he specializes in new construction and helping clients who are purchasing modular homes.
Hugh actively supports the National MS Society and participates in the Tour to Tanglewood, a 2-day cycling fundraiser.
